    Training Saves Lives

Absolute E-Z Up® aerial work platforms and stock pickers are designed to be safe and easy to use. But if you value safety and expertise as much as we do, we recommend you and your staff take an IPAF certification training course.

    What is IPAF?

IPAF is the International Powered Access Federation, a nonprofit comprised of manufacturers, rental companies, contractors and users that promotes the safe and effective use of powered access worldwide. They are not affiliated with any specific companies.

3 Types of IPAF Training Courses

There are three types of training courses available:

    1. Train the Trainer – if your company regularly hires new employees, having your own certified trainer on site will save you lots of money and hassle, and ensure you always have a workforce that knows and follows the highest safety standards
    2. Operator Training – This is the standard training program that anyone using material handling equipment should take – it’s a one day course
    3. Company Training – Bring your whole staff (or have our IPAF-certified trainers come to you) and get everyone up to speed

    How IPAF Training Works

There are two parts – the classroom theory and the hands-on application. The basic operator training takes one day. At the end, there’s an evaluation for each part – a written test and a practical use test.

Upon completion, you receive an ID PAL card (Power Access License), a safety guide, a log book to document your training and use history, and a certificate. The PAL card is recognized worldwide as proof that you are an expert operator of mobile aerial work platforms and related equipment such as boom lifts, push-arounds, and vehicle-mounted lifts. The card states which specific types of equipment you have been trained to operate and is valid for 5 years.

The class sizes are kept small so each trainee gets the attention they need and sufficient time working with the equipment to master it. You won’t just be standing around watching someone else.

If you have a multi-lingual staff, the training can be done in multiple languages.

Save Time & Money - Use the IPAF E-Learning Option

IPAF has created an online course option to make the training process as flexible as possible. The e-learning option covers the classroom portion of the IPAF training courses, and can be completed at any time, day or night. You still have to attend an approved training center for the hands-on portion.

    Why You Need IPAF Certification

The main reason is obvious – to protect your employees (and yourself) from getting hurt. Safety is always number one.

In addition, health and safety legislation in various states, countries and provinces often requires it. And most governments have some kind of work-at-height regulations as well. Passing IPAF training courses ensures your company meets these requirements.

IPAF training certification conforms to international standard ISO 18878:2004 Mobile elevating work platforms – Operator (driver) training.
